Why Trust Is Mission-Critical for Simulation Training, Pilot Readiness, and Aviation Performance

Building Trust in Aviation and Military Simulation

When we talk about mission readiness—whether in combat aviation, commercial air travel, or allied military training—there’s one word that underpins it all: trust.

As a veteran of 11 combat deployments and now as Chairman of the Advisory Board at SPS, I’ve seen firsthand that the success of any mission doesn’t just hinge on the sophistication of the equipment or the complexity of the scenario. It hinges on trust—in the systems, in the people, and in the processes that support performance.

Our recent National Study on Trust and Leadership in the Workforce revealed a striking insight:

• 88% of working professionals report significantly higher productivity when they trust their leadership.

• 91% of executives say they perform better when they trust the people they lead and work with.

These numbers aren’t abstract—they reflect the core of what SPS delivers: simulation training solutions that prepare pilots and personnel for real-world complexity, especially in high-stakes environments like defense and commercial aviation.

That’s why I’m excited to bring the principles of No Fail Trust® into SPS—because in our world, the margin for error is razor-thin. Every button push, every decision in the cockpit, every component must perform flawlessly. And that demands a culture where people are empowered, equipped, and engaged.

As we look ahead, my focus will be on helping SPS continue to grow with trusted processes, develop trusted aviation training programs, and amplify the trusted people already within the organization and among its clients across the aerospace and defense industries.

I’m honored to serve alongside the team at SPS. Together, we’re not just building simulators—we’re building trust into every moment of training. And in this field, trust is the true edge of performance.
